Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. She has been involved in 53 deals since February, 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment that will provide 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a family of Irish Catholics who worked hard was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a housewife. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was a bouncing from job to job during Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, her family depended on free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who was drunk occasionally and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled at school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
